The upcoming crime drama comics series The Kaiju Score has already gathered a lot of attention. Even though the series from writer James Patrick (Grimm Fairy Tales, The Monsters of Jimmy Crumb) and artist Rem Broo (The End Times of Bram and Ben, Terminal Protocol) has yet to debut, Deadline brings word that Sony Pictures has acquired the rights to adapt it into a movie. The series published by AfterShock Comics will focus on someone who is attempting the heist of the century while a giant monster attack is happening.
Earlier this year, Aftershock previewed some pages from the first issue of The Kaiju Score. Check them out in our gallery below.

The upcoming series will mash-up genres and take inspirations from pop-culture.
“The Kaiju Score is a Quentin Tarantino film taking place in some corner of a Godzilla movie,” writer James Patrick said. “You have this giant canvas of a kaiju attack occurring, and as it happens there’s this more personal story going on. And after that setup, it explores how these four characters, who are in just the worst situation in their lives, believe the only way out is to do this impossible thing. This crazy crime. It’s about that desperation.”
Sony Pictures will produce the movie together with Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch. AfterShock Comics’ Lee Kramer and Jon Kramer will also produce.
The Kaiju Score comic will hit the stores on Nov. 25.
