Resident Evil Reboot Film Adds Gotham Star Donal Logue

Last month, Constantin Films and Sony’s Screen Gems revealed plans to revisit the world of Resident Evil in a new adaptation. While most of the cast was already in place, Deadline is reporting that Gotham veteran Donal Logue has signed on as well.

Logue will portray Brian Irons, the morally challenged chief of Raccoon City’s police department. Logue starred in Gotham for five seasons as Harvey Bullock. He has also starred in Grounded For Life, Terriers, The Cloverfield Paradox, Blade, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Deadline also notes that The Flash veteran, Chad Rook, and Lily Gao have joined the cast in unspecified roles.

Kaya Scodelario will play Claire Redfield, with Robbie Amell (Upload) as her brother, Chris Redfield. Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) will also co-star as Jill Valentine. Additionally, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) will play Leon S. Kennedy, with Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy) as Albert Wesker, and Neal McDonough (Yellowstone) as William Birkin.

Writer and director Johannes Roberts is tackling the new Resident Evil movie, and it will be directly based on the first two games in the series. Sony hasn’t set a date yet, but it’s likely to arrive in theaters in 2021.
