If there was no pandemic, Chaos Walking would have been hitting theaters on January 22, 2021. The sci-fi film adapts Patrick Ness’ The Knife of Never Letting Go, with Star Wars sequel trilogy actress Daisy Ridley; and the MCU’s Spider-Man, Tom Holland, in the leading roles. Now, Lionsgate is backing off of that 2021 release date without naming a new date. Regardless, Chaos Walking‘s official Twitter account has debuted the first poster for the film.

The film takes place in a future where humanity has colonized an alien world. However, a plague has wiped out every woman on the colony and created “Noise.” That’s the name given to the telepathic ability given to the surviving men. It allows them to hear the thoughts of each other, and the minds of animals as well.
Holland plays Todd Hewitt, a teenager who discovers Viola Eade (Ridley), the first female anyone has seen for years. She also seems to be immune to the Noise, and her thoughts can not be heard.
Mads Mikkelsen also co-stars in the movie with Demián Bichir, Kurt Sutter, Nick Jonas, Cynthia Erivo, and David Oyelowo.
