It’s almost Christmas, and Netflix is giving presents to The Witcher fans. As part of the ‘Witchmas’ initiative — a few days of surprises from The Witcher world — the streaming service has released the official logo for Nightmare of the Wolf. It’s been a while since fans heard any news of it, but Netflix is expanding the world of The Witcher with an animated spin-off movie. The story is not adapting any of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels and short stories, and it will introduce a pivotal character from Season 2, Vesemir. You can take a look at the Nightmare of The Wolf logo below.

In the books, Vesemir is the mentor and a father figure for Geralt of Rivia. The story will explore his early years as a Witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise. The upcoming animated feature comes from the Korean animation team Studio Mir. The project also involves The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, but her exact role is still unknown.
Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for Nightmare of the Wolf. However, the streaming service will likely debut it before the sophomore season.
