New Black Widow TV Spots Focus on Friends and Enemies

Marvel continues to ramp up the marketing campaign for Black Widow. As the film’s release date draws closer, the studio has released a series of new TV spots highlighting a mix of explosive action as well as quieter, character-driven moments. Check them out for yourself below.

The first spot, dubbed “Control,” focuses on the movie’s primary villain, Taskmaster. More importantly, it gives viewers a new look at his heads-up display, which notably clocks Natasha’s threat level at 88%. It also looks as though his ability to mimic his opponents’ fighting styles is going to require some technological assistance. Another scene appears to show someone feeding data into his helmet. Regardless, we still don’t know who’s hiding behind the mask.

Additionally, Marvel has released two extended spots for Black Widow that are both packed with extra footage. Naturally, “Fight” zeroes in on the action, presenting the usual gamut of shots from earlier previews, including scenes that show Natasha in her white tactical suit. But it also highlights the banter between the members of Nat’s Russian “family,” which many critics have hailed as one of the film’s strengths.

“Chance” shows more of the same footage. However, it pulls back a bit for emphasis on Nat’s character development. We also see what looks like a flashback to her childhood, where she’s sporting blue hair and protecting another little girl who might be a younger version of Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova.

Black Widow hits theaters and Disney+ Premier Access on July 9.
