Brie Larson Confirms That The Marvels Has Begun Production

It’s official: Brie Larson is already back in Carol Danvers’ Starforce uniform. In a new interview with Sirius XM, Larson revealed that she is currently in London filming The Marvels.

Unlike the ‘90s setting of Captain Marvel, the upcoming follow-up is expected to continue Carol’s story in the present day. And this time, she’s sharing the screen with two other superheroines. The film will feature Teyonah Parris reprising her WandaVision role as Monica Rambea as well as Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, who will make her first appearance as Ms. Marvel on Disney+.

During the interview, Larson discussed how she has gotten used to the hectic schedule that comes with working in the MCU. However, she also expressed awe over the scope of the new film’s sets, and it sounds like the producers have big things in store for the sequel.

“It’s pretty surreal,” said Larson. “I mean, when you’re doing films like this, they’re unlike anything else. Huge sets. Huge amounts of people on set. Lots of specialists. It’s a really unique experience. I’m a huge fan of Disneyland, so to me it feels like I get to go to my own private Disneyland every single day. Because they’re building all of these insane worlds that no one else knows about, no one else gets to see. You’ll see it when the movie comes out. But for now, it’s just mine. I’m in sets that are bigger than you can imagine right now. It’s really special.”

The Marvels will hit theaters on November 11, 2022.
