Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart Will Be In Black Panther 2
Last December, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige announced that Dominique Thorne had been cast as Riri Williams ahead of her own Ironheart series on Disney+. While that show hasn’t started filming yet, Thorne will make her MCU debut a little sooner than expected.
Via ComicBook, Feige has confirmed that Thorne will appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
“We’re shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in Black Panther 2 first,” said Feige. “She started shooting, I think, this week before her Ironheart series.”

In the comics, Riri Williams is a 15-year old genius who attends MIT. She also reverse engineered Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor tech and created her own armored suit. Stark was so impressed that he endorsed Riri’s desire to become a heroine. Stark also gave her an A.I. based on his own personality to help guide her.
Earlier this year, Chinaka Hodge signed on to be the head writer on the Ironheart series. However, there’s currently no start date for that show to begin production.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on July 8, 2022.
