Shazam!: Fury of the Gods Has Wrapped Production

Back in 2019, Shazam! hit theaters and quickly earned a greenlight for a sequel. However, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed filming until earlier this year. Regardless, the follow-up film, Shazam!: Fury of the Gods, has now finished production.

Director David F. Sandberg shared the news earlier today via his Twitter account.

Unfortunately, there’s still going to be a nearly two year wait before Fury of the Gods hits theaters.

Asher Angel will reprise his role as Billy Batson, alongside Zachary Levi as his alter ego, Shazam. Jack Dylan Grazer is also returning as Frederick “Freddy” Freeman, with Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, and Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña.

Additionally, Fulton will portray Mary’s adult superheroine self in this movie. The rest of the adult Shazam! family will also return, with Adam Brody as Freddy, Meagan Good as Darla, Ross Butler as Eugene, and D. J. Cotrona as Pedro.

The daughters of Atlas will be the film’s villains, with Helen Mirren as Hespera and Lucy Liu as Kalypso. Rachel Zegler is also playing one of Atlas’ daughters, but her character’s name hasn’t been announced.

Shazam!: Fury of the Gods hits theaters on June 2, 2023.
