Ikaris and Kingo Mock the Avengers in Latest Promo for Eternals

Fans are literally counting the days before the Eternals release. And so is this latest promo spot for Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao’s upcoming movie. In it, Ikaris and the rest of the band get off a zinger or two about the Avengers themselves. First Kumail Nanjiani’s Kingo points out that the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have Thor and Spider-Man before Ikaris answers him that they have Thena — a clear reference to Tony Stark’s “We have a Hulk” line. The character portrayed by Angelina Jolie then takes the floor and showcases some of her notorious fighting skills. Ultimately Game of Thrones alum Richard Madden’s Ikaris says, “Eternals, assemble!” mimicking Captain America’s catchphrase. The reaction might not be the one he was expecting as he indeed gets a “Great line” from Kingo, but it sounds pretty ironic.

The next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected to bring answers to some pending questions. For example, where were the Eternals during the events of the Infinity War? And why didn’t they help the Avengers in their fight against Thanos? Most importantly, the constant comparisons between the two teams might suggest a clash between them sooner or later.

In addition to Jolie, Madden and Nanjiani, the Eternals cast features Gemma Chan as Sersi, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman.

Eternals hits theaters on November 5.
