Last week, Mondo teased the arrival of its next Marvel movie soundtrack by posting a picture of Morris the hundun on Instagram and promising that an announcement would be made soon. Now, that time is finally upon us. Mondo is once again partnering with Hollywood Records and Marvel Music on the premiere physical release of Joel P. West’s score for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
West had already worked with Destin Daniel Cretton four times before re-teaming with the director on Shang-Chi. The movie was a far cry from Cretton’s typical indie drama. Regardless, West managed to bring an extra layer of excitement to the film’s immaculately-choreographed fight scenes. But more importantly, he honored the musical styles of the title character’s native country by incorporating several Chinese instruments like Tanggu drums and Ehru.
Mondo is pressing West’s score on two 180-gram vinyl LPs. Fans have two options to choose from. There’s the webstore-exclusive color variant as well as a standard black version. The release also features artwork from Dani Pendergast and liner notes written by West himself.

The album marks Mondo’s seventh musical collaboration with Marvel Studios. Previously, they teamed up on exclusive pressings of the scores for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Black Widow. Although these soundtracks have been arriving more sporadically of late, don’t expect Shang-Chi to be the only MCU release to arrive this year. Mondo has also confirmed that other Marvel titles, including Ramin Djawadi’s Eternals score, will be released sometime in the next few months.
Both versions of Mondo’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings soundtrack retail for $40. Pre-orders go live tomorrow, April 6 at 12pm CT.
