Doctor Strange 2 Actress Shares a Photo of Her New MCU Role

Warning: There are major spoilers ahead about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness! Doctor Strange 2 actress.

Until the closing moments of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a key figure from Stephen Strange’s comic book mythos was absent from the MCU. However, that changed when Clea stepped into Stephen’s life during the mid-credits scene. And Marvel cast a genuine movie star to portray the love of Doctor Strange’s life: Charlize Theron.

While Theron has yet to share an interview about how and when she was cast for the film, she has finally shared a picture of herself as Clea on her Twitter account.

Who is Clea? Although she doesn’t identify herself by name in the film, Clea is the rightful ruler of the Dark Dimension. This was hinted onscreen when she opened a portal to the Dark Dimension while convincing Stephen Strange to help her fix an incursion that he caused.

It was also left unsaid that Clea is the niece of Strange’s enemy, the Dread Dormammu. And if Clea exists in the MCU, it means that her mother (and Dormammu’s sister), Umar, is also somewhere out there.

Presumably Theron will co-star with Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange 3. Marvel has yet to announce that sequel, but the opening weekend success of In the Multiverse of Madness all but guarantees that it will happen.
