It may be a new tradition that former Batman actors join the MCU as villains. Michael Keaton did it first as the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now, The Dark Knight trilogy star, Christian Bale, is following in Keaton’s footsteps. In Thor: Love and Thunder, Bale will portray Gorr the God Butcher, an alien with a deadly vendetta against all gods. Gorr has the power to live up to his moniker. And in the second trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, Gorr also has two Thunder Gods to kill.
The other big development in the new trailer brings Thor (Chris Hemsworth) face-to-face with the Mighty Thor, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). That’s going to take some getting used to. But for comic book movie fans, the wild ride is going to be worth it.

Marvel has also released a new poster for the film, which once again harkens back to the ’80s. Intriguingly, Russell Crowe has a prominent place in the cast list despite reports he only has a small role in the film.
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on Friday, July 8.
