Harrison Ford Returns in the First Official Photo From Indiana Jones 5

Story details concerning the next Indiana Jones installment remain shrouded in secrecy. So perhaps it’s fitting that our first “proper” look at the highly-anticipated sequel is only a silhouette. During today’s Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm plugged Indiana Jones 5 by revealing a new image from the film, featuring Harrison Ford’s iconic character wearing his trademark fedora as he explores a dark cave. You can check out the new photo below.

This also would have been the perfect time for Lucasfilm to finally reveal the movie’s official title. Unfortunately, fans are going to have to wait a bit longer for the studio to make that announcement. However, those in attendance were lucky enough to hear a live orchestral performance of the Indiana Jones theme conducted by John Williams himself. And as if that weren’t enough of a treat, Ford later graced the stage with his own presence, joking that the films’ music follows him everywhere, even his colonoscopy.

Lucasfilm began production on Indiana Jones 5 last summer in the United Kingdom. Principal photography wrapped back in February, but Ford claimed that the sequel isn’t quite finished yet.

The films marks the first time in the franchise’s 40-year history that Steven Spielberg isn’t sitting in the director’s chair. Instead, James Mangold is helming the fifth installment from a screenplay by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth. New cast members include Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Toby Jones.

Indiana Jones 5 will hit theaters on June 30, 2023.
