Jennifer Lawrence Reveals if She Would Reprise Hunger Games Role

The Hunger Games series star Jennifer Lawrence has revealed whether or not she would play Katniss Everdeen again in another movie.

Is Jennifer Lawrence willing to return to the Hunger Games franchise?

Speaking with Variety, Lawrence was asked if she would reprise her iconic role as Katniss. The actress was enthusiastic about the idea and said if there was a possibility, she was “100%” open to it.

“Oh, my God — totally,” Lawrence stated. “If Katniss ever could ever come back into my life, 100 percent. My producing partner just clutched her heart.”

The newest movie in the franchise, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, is based on the 2020 prequel novel by Suzanne Collins. The prequel is set 64 years before the events of the Hunger Games trilogy and starts on the morning of the reaping of the Tenth Hunger Games, where an 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is assigned as the mentor for the tribute girl from the impoverished District 12. The film stars Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Viola Davis, and Peter Dinklage.

“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12,” reads the upcoming prequel’s synopsis. “But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.”
