Xochitl Gomez and Kathryn Newton address potentially doing a Marvel team-up project together in a new TikTok shared by Gomez.
In the TikTok, Gomez and Newtown quickly address whether or not people can expect to see them star in a Marvel project together. Newton responds, “Oh my goodness, I love this question.” Gomez begins to say, “Um, I think…” before the video then cuts off.
Gomez’s caption to the video reads, “Hmmmm…idk? #kevinfeige ???.” In a separate comment, Gomez also wrote, “Idk?!?! ?.” Responding to a comment suggesting Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop be brought in so they can “get the trio,” Gomez said, “?.”
Gomez’s America Chavez debuted in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was directed by Sam Raimi. Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, meanwhile, starred alongside Jeremy Renner in 2021’s Hawkeye series.
Cassie Lang was originally portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson in 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp before Emma Fuhrmann played an older version of the character in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Newton replaced Fuhrmann as Cassie in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Is Marvel setting up a Young Avengers project?
While Gomez, Newton, and Steinfeld have yet to appear in a Marvel project together, America Chavez/Miss America, Cassie Lang/Stature, and Kate Bishop/Hawkeye are all members of the Young Avengers in the comics. Other core team members — including Wiccan/Billy Maximoff, Speed/Tommy Shepherd, Kid Loki, and Eli Bradley/Patriot — have already been introduced in past MCU movies and series, further suggesting Marvel Studios may be building up to a Young Avengers project.
It’s also possible that Gomez, Newton, and Steinfeld could appear in 2026’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars together given both films will be large ensemble pieces; however, no casting announcements have been officially made by Marvel Studios at this time for either movie.
