Update: Marvel Studios has now confirmed Deadpool 3’s new release date as July 26, 2024. Meanwhile, Captain America: Brave New World has been delayed to February 14, 2025.
With the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike now over, Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 has been given a new release window by Ryan Reynolds.
After news broke that the SAG-AFTRA negotiating committee had unanimously approved a tentative agreement to end the actors strike on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, Reynolds took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce a new release window for Deadpool 3 while also teasing the appearance of Dogpool in the upcoming MCU film.
“Did Dogpool save the day? Not a chance in gremlin hell,” he wrote. “But she IS currently causing the Disney plus mercy department nightmares. Coming with the movie, Summer 2024.”

Deadpool 3 was originally scheduled to release on May 3, 2024, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. The film was approximately halfway completed with filming when the actors strike began in July 2023.
Who stars in Deadpool 3?
While there have been numerous theories about which X-Men characters may or may not appear in Deadpool 3 (Taylor Swift as Dazzler being one of the more prominent rumors to appear online), Marvel has confirmed that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming movie.
Joining Reynolds and Jackman are Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra Natchios, Leslie Uggams’ Blind Al, Karan Song’s Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić’s Colossus, Shioli Kutsuna’s Yukio, and Rob Delaney’s Peter. Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen are also in the movie in undisclosed roles.
Directed by Shawn Levy — who co-wrote the script with Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, and Reynolds — Deadpool 3 will release in the summer of 2024 from Marvel Studios. As of this article’s publication, Captain America: Brave New World is also scheduled to release on July 26, 2024.
