Christopher Abbott and Jamie Dornan both reportedly screen-tested for the role of Reed Richards in Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four movie.
According to Jeff Sneider’s The Insneider, Abbott and Dornan were both flown to London prior to the start of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike to secretly screen test for the role of Fantastic Four’s Reed Richards.
Abbott and Dornan’s screen tests did “not go very well,” according to Sneider. Other actors who were rumored to previously be considered for the part include Jake Gyllenhaal, Adam Driver, and more.
On November 15, 2023, /Film reported that The Mandalorian and The Last of Us’ Pedro Pascal had officially signed on to play Reed in Matt Shakman’s upcoming MCU film. Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, however, said that Pascal’s casting was not yet a done deal and may be dependent on his schedule.
While Marvel has yet to confirm anything at this time, the most prominent rumors suggest that Pascal will be joined in the film by Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch/Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing/Ben Grimm.
