Filming for Venom 3 began in late June 2023 but was put on hold in July due to the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike for better wages, protection against AI, and more. The movie recently moved off its July 12, 2024, release date and will now hit theaters in November 2024.
What do we know about Venom 3?
Hardy first played the role of Eddie Brock in 2018’s Venom, which was directed by Ruben Fleischer. He reprised his role in the Andy Serkis-directed 2021 sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and also appeared as Eddie during a mid-credit scene featured in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Marcel is writing and directing the third Venom film, which does not yet have an official title. Hardy will be joined by Ted Lasso’s Juno Temple and Doctor Strange’s Chiwetel Ejiofor, both of whom have been cast in undisclosed roles. Producing the movie are Hardy, Marcel, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.
Venom 3 isn’t the only Spider-Man-related movie that Sony is putting out in 2024. On February 14, 2024, the studio will release Madame Web, which stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, and Tahar Rahim. Following that is the Aaron Taylor-Johnson-led Kraven the Hunter, which was originally going to be released in 2023 but has been pushed back to August 30, 2024. Along with Taylor-Johnson, the movie also stars Ariana DeBose, Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott, and Alessandro Nivola.
Venom 3 hits United States theaters on November 8, 2024, from Sony Pictures Releasing.
