Jon Hamm Still Wants to Be Part of the MCU: ‘I Hope I Get a Chance’

Jon Hamm is hoping to get the chance to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Hamm was asked about the likelihood of him showing up in a Marvel movie now that the X-Men are gradually being introduced into the MCU. For years, Hamm has been rumored to be up for the role of Mister Sinister, an iconic X-Men villain created by Chris Claremont.

“I don’t know,” Hamm said. “Those decisions get made at such a high level at this point, definitely above my pay grade. I would love to. I’ve been a fan of Marvel Comics and comics in general since I was probably single digits. I think there are tons of stories that I’m familiar with, at least, that are still out there to be told.”

He continued, “Hopefully, whatever their plans are, they include me. But if not, I know that they have a pretty deep bench of folks that are ready to be a part of those stories. There are certainly a lot of stories in the X-Men world to be told. Fantastic Four as well, [like] Doctor Doom. There are so many great things out there. But yeah, I hope I get a chance. Who knows?”

What roles is Jon Hamm known for?

Hamm is best known for playing the role of Don Draper on AMC’s Mad Men. He’s also currently playing Roy Tillman on FX’s Fargo Season 5 and will play Coach Carr in the upcoming Mean Girls musical remake. Additionally, Hamm has starred in 2022’s Confess, Fletch, 2017’s Baby Driver, 2011’s Bridesmaids, and more.

Within Marvel Comics’ continuity, Hamm made a brief cameo at the second annual Hellfire Gala in 2022’s X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1, where it was revealed he had a past relationship with Emma Frost. Emma Frost was played by January Jones in 2011’s X-Men: First Class, who also plays Don Draper’s wife, Betty Draper, in Mad Men.
