The Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie has revealed her thoughts on Lady Gaga playing the iconic DC character Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à Deux.
During Variety‘s Golden Globes pre-show, Robbie explained that she hasn’t spoken with Gaga about her upcoming portrayal of Harley Quinn in the Joker sequel. The actress then expressed her confidence in Gaga.
“She’s going to crush it! She’s going to be amazing,” Robbie stated. “I actually haven’t spoken to her about it. I almost don’t want to know so I can save it for a surprise when I see the movie.”
Robbie played Harley Quinn in 2016’s Suicide Squad, 2020’s Birds of Prey, and 2021’s The Suicide Squad. Gaga will play Quinn in Joker: Folie á Deux, which is set to release on October 4, 2024.

Joker: Folie á Deux is a sequel to 2019’s Joker. Joaquin Phoenix will reprise his role as the Clown Prince of Crime, while Lady Gaga has been cast as Harley Quinn. Zazie Beetz is also returning for the sequel, while Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Along with directing, Phillips co-wrote the script for for Joker: Folie à Deux, which will be a musical, with Scott Silver producing the movie alongside Bradley Cooper.
