Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal says a live-action Miles Morales movie is coming after “two more movies.”
In June 2023, Pascal confirmed that a live-action Miles Morales movie is being worked on. “You’ll see all of it,” she told Variety at the time, though no other details were provided.
Speaking with Variety again, Pascal reaffirmed a live-action Miles Morales movie is still in development. When asked for an update on the current status of the movie, Pascal said, “Someday. Not until we make two more movies.”
On Twitter, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s Christopher Miller added, “To clarify, when she said ‘not until we make two more movies,’ she meant Beyond the Spider-Verse and the live-action Tom Holland film.”
Miles Morales, Spider-Verse, and Tom Holland
Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, Miles Morales debuted in 2011’s Ultimate Fallout #4. Miles was originally the second Spider-Man in the Ultimate Universe/Earth-1610; however, he was brought into the main Marvel Universe/Earth-616 following the events of the 2015 Secret Wars storyline.
Miles, voiced by Shameik Moore, serves as the main protagonist in Sony’s animated Spider-Verse movies. With Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse having been released in June 2023, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is now being worked on. The movie was originally supposed to be released in March 2024 but has been delayed. A new release date has not yet been set.
Pascal and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously confirmed that another MCU Spider-Man movie is being developed. Holland is expected to return to the role of Peter Parker, though further details, including a release date, remain under wraps at this time.
It’s not immediately clear if the live-action Miles Morales movie will play into MCU continuity or, alternatively, if it will play into Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which includes the Venom franchise, Morbius, Madame Web, and more.
