Yuhki Demers, who previously worked in the art department for 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has shown off some concept artwork for a pitched Batman Beyond movie.
On Twitter, Demers posted three photos from a pitched Batman Beyond movie that, if greenlighted by Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios, would be directed by Patrick Harpin.
“5 months ago, Patrick Harpin walked into [Warner Bros. and DC] and pitched a Batman Beyond Animated Feature,” Demers explained in the caption. “Before we pitched, they warned us, ‘There is absolutely no way we can do a Beyond movie,’ but they loved our enthusiasm. We pitched the outline for the entire film, and what started as a ‘never’ turned into a ‘maybe’. In the time since, we’ve been pitching our way up the company hoping to get to [James Gunn]. But for now, here’s a taste of what we’ve been cooking.”

Is DC working on a Batman Beyond movie?
There have long been rumors that DC was interested in developing an animated Batman Beyond movie following the success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. There’s been no official announcement made about any such project, though Daniel Casey was once reported to be working on a screenplay.
DC was also rumored to have plans for a live-action Batman Beyond movie at one point that would have seen Michael Keaton reprise his role as an older Bruce Wayne. Development on the project, however, was reportedly shelved after Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed co-CEOs of DC Studios.
At this time, DC Studios has not confirmed a Batman Beyond project, be it animated or live-action, is in the works. The project pitched by Demers and Harpin would be written and directed by Harpin, while Demers would serve as producer and production designer.
