Disney has given official release dates to The Mandalorian & Grogu and Tron: Ares.
Disney has announced that The Mandalorian & Grogu will be released in United States theaters on May 22, 2026.
Tron: Ares, meanwhile, will hit United States theaters on October 10, 2025.
Announced in January 2024, The Mandalorian & Grogu is being directed by Jon Favreau. Favreau is also producing the movie alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni.
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” Favreau previously said, via StarWars.com. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
Kennedy added, “Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.”

What do we know about Tron: Ares?
Tron: Ares, meanwhile, serves as a sequel to 1982’s Tron and 2010’s Tron Legacy. The movie is being directed by Joachim Rønning, who previously directed 2019’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and co-directed 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales with Espen Sandberg.
The film will star Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, and Sarah Desjardins.
The screenplay for Tron: Ares was written by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, while Emma Ludbrook, Jeffrey Springer, and Leto serve as producers and Russell Allen as an executive producer.
Plot details for Tron: Ares also remain under wraps at this time; although, Leto will reportedly play the titular character, who is a manifestation of a program that becomes sentient and crosses over into the human world.
