The Batman Part II Production Window Announced by Andy Serkis

Andy Serkis has announced a production start window for The Batman Part II.

Speaking at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, Serkis revealed that The Batman Part II is expected to begin filming in early 2025.

“Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I’ve just found out that we’re probably likely to be starting filming early next year,” Serkis, who played Alfred Pennyworth in 2022’s The Batman, said, via Popverse. “Therefore, if you do the math, it’ll be a year and a half after that.”

What else did Andy Serkis say about The Batman Part II?

He added, “I know that Matt [Reeves] is working really hard on the script. Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the extraordinary filmmaker that he is, I can only assume that it’s going to be another brilliant script, because I thought what he did with that first film was pretty amazing. I loved working with Rob Pattinson, and I really look forward to playing Alfred once more.”

Serkis didn’t reveal any plot details for The Batman Part II, saying, “Well, there is a huge arc which you’ve got — nah, I’m not giving away anything.”

Little else is known about The Batman Part II at this time other than that it is once again being directed by Reeves and will see Robert Pattinson return to star as The Dark Knight/Bruce Wayne. The first Batman movie teased a potential role for Barry Keoghan’s Joker in the upcoming sequel, though it’s unclear how significant of a part the Clown Prince of Crime will have.

James Gunn did, however, say a rumor claiming Professor Pyg, Scarecrow, Clayface, Hush, and Dick Grayson would be in The Batman Part II was “totally made up.”

Prior to The Batman Part II, Max is releasing a limited series following Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobblepot. The Penguin will premiere on the streaming service on September 8, 2024, while The Batman Part II is scheduled to be released in United States theaters on October 2, 2026.
