Zack Snyder’s Justice League Is Getting a Theatrical Release

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is getting a theatrical release.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is the director’s cut to DC Studios’ Justice League movie, which was initially released in 2017. Following a fan campaign demanding Warner Bros. release the “Snyder Cut” of the DC ensemble picture, the film was released on HBO Max in March 2021.

Snyder is now teasing a theatrical release for his version of Justice League. He posted on Vero, “Want to see ZSJL on the big screen….stay tuned for a date.”

Further details are not available at this time.

The 242-minute-long movie has played in limited theaters before. A black-and-white version of the film, referred to as the “Justice Is Gray Edition,” played in IMAX screens in New York City, Los Angeles, and Austin in July 2022. It was also screened in color in IMAX in April 2023 as part of the SnyderCon event in Los Angeles.

What is Zack Snyder’s Justice League about?

Zack Snyder‘s definitive director’s cut of Justice League,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “Determined to ensure Superman’s ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne aligns forces with Diana Prince with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions.”

The movie — which is set in the now-defunct DCEU, as James Gunn and Peter Safran are launching a new DCU later this year — stars Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Bally Allen/The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf.

While fans wait for the theatrical release, Zack Snyder’s Justice League is currently streaming on Max.
