Captain America: Brave New World’s Anthony Mackie Shows Off MCU Costume in New Photo

Captain America: Brave New World’s Anthony Mackie has shared a new photo showing off his MCU costume.

On Instagram, Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson in the MCU, shared a photo of himself dressed in his Captain America outfit in celebration of the United States’ Fourth of July. Mackie’s caption reads, “Happy Birthday America! Have a great 4th, see you soon…”

What do we know about Captain America: Brave New World?

Along with Mackie, the movie stars Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/Leader, Shira Haas as Ruth/Sabra, Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and Liv Tyler as Better Ross.

Additionally, Xosha Roquemore, Seth Rollins, Rosa Salazar, and Giancarlo Esposito have been cast in undisclosed roles in the Marvel Studios film, the latter of whom is believed to be playing a villain.

Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah, who previously made 2015’s The Girl Is in Trouble, 2018’s The Cloverfield Paradox, and 2019’s Luce. The script was written by Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Matthew Orton.

Formerly known as Captain America: New World Order, the upcoming Marvel movie completed principal photography in June 2023. 

Plot details remain under wraps at this time. The film will be Mackie’s first time leading a Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America after he took on the mantle in 2021’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Captain America: Brave New World releases in United States theaters on February 14, 2025, as part of Phase 5 of the MCU.

Prior to that, Marvel Studios is releasing Deadpool & Wolverine on July 26, 2024. After Captain America: Brave New World comes Thunderbolts* on May 5, 2025, The Fantastic Four on July 25, 2024, and Blade on November 7, 2026.
