Deadpool & Wolverine Director Reveals Emma Corrin’s Original Cassandra Nova Camera Test Photos

Shawn Levy has shared Emma Corrin’s original test camera photos as Cassandra Nova for Deadpool & Wolverine.

Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine is currently playing in United States theaters. The film sees Corrin play the villainous Cassandra Nova alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson/Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

On Instagram, director Shawn Levy shared photos of Corrin’s original camera test as Cassandra Nova.

“Emma Corrin appreciation post,” Levy wrote. “ We never had a second choice to play #cassandranova. From our very first camera test (first 2 pics) we knew @emmalouisecorrin was the One.”

Prior to Deadpool & Wolverine, Corrin starred in 2020’s Misbehaviour, 2022’s My Policeman, and 2023’s Good Grief. She also played Esme Winikus in 2019’s Pennyworth and Diana in The Crown Season 4, while she’ll soon be seen in Roger Eggers’ Nosferatu.

What is Deadpool & Wolverine about?

“Six years after the events of Deadpool 2, Wade Wilson is retired as the mercenary Deadpool and lives a quiet life until the Time Variance Authority (TVA)—a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline—pulls him into a new mission,” reads the official synopsis for the film. “With his home universe facing an existential threat, Wilson reluctantly joins an even more reluctant Wolverine on a mission that will change the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).”

Along with Corrin, Reynolds, and Jackman, the Marvel film stars Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Aaron Stanford as Pyro, and Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Paradox, among a number of other cameos.

Deadpool & Wolverine made $496.4 million at the worldwide box office during its opening weekend, giving it the sixth-biggest box office opening of all time. It surpassed Inside Out 2 for the biggest debut of 2024.
