The Wolverine director James Mangold has been sharing a series of behind-the-scenes images from the upcoming film and his latest might be the best yet. Posted on Twitter today with the caption “A long dolly shot at the Yashida compound on the @WolverineMovie.” This of course refers to Mariko Yashida (played by Tao Okamoto in the film), who is one of Wolverine’s long time love interests in the source material.
We’ve also learned that the first trailer for the film is expected to be attached to G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
Opening in theaters on July 26, the action adventure stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
