Interstellar Debuts an Interactive Site Filled with Hidden Clues

The mysteries of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar deepen today with a massive update to the film’s official site. Visitors are now greeted with messages like “Look Around You” and “The Answer Lies Above Us” as they’re granted the power to rotate a 360 degree image of one of the film’s key locations. What’s particularly intriguing, however, is that the site seems to be based on vistors’ own local time and geography, offering very different skies depending on where and when the site is accessed.

Thankfully, the die hards at the Nolan Fans forum have already put in an impressive amount of legwork, identifying some fascinating clues like a pulsating series of stars that seem to represent the historic Apollo 11 Moon landing date of July 20, 1969. It’s a good bet that there’s a whole lot more yet to be uncovered, though, so be sure to share your own findings in the comments below!

Hitting theaters and IMAX on November 7, 2014, the sci-fi film stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley, Bill Irwin, Mackenzie Foy, Topher Grace and David Gyasi.

Interstellar chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.
