Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures‘ Spider-Man: Homecoming opened to $15.4 million at Thursday previews in 3,450 theaters! It’s the third-biggest Thursday previews debut this year, trailing just Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2‘s $17 million and Beauty and the Beast‘s $16.3 million. Wonder Woman opened with $11 million from Thursday previews last month and went on to gross $103.2 million its first weekend. Spider-Man: Homecoming expands to 4,341 locations today and is on its way to a first weekend that could reach $100 million domestically.

A young Peter Parker / Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

A Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel is already scheduled for July 5, 2019 and Tom Holland recently confirmed a third film is also in the works!
