Marvel Studios‘ Thor: Ragnarok opened to $14.5 million at Thursday domestic previews. The third installment opens in 4,080 theaters today, including 391 IMAX screens, and is enjoying a stellar 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. Thor: Ragnarok is expected to debut with more than $100 million domestically this weekend, which tops the first film’s $65.7 million from May 2011, as well as Thor: The Dark World, which earned $85.7 million in November 2013.
Ragnarok‘s Thursday previews figure is slightly less than Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s $15.4 million, but it topped Doctor Strange‘s ($9.4 million) and Thor: The Dark World‘s $7.1 million.
