The wait for Hellboy‘s second trailer is ending soon. According to creator and producer Mike Mignola, a new trailer for Hellboy is debuting tonight at midnight. To build anticipation, Summit Entertainment dropped two new posters. The reboot recently received an R-rating due to “strong bloody violence and gore throughout.” That didn’t come as a surprise, since Hellboy was shooting monsters in the head in the first trailer.
“The world’s greatest paranormal investigator” made his big screen debut in 2004 thanks to Guillermo del Toro. Originally, del Toro’s plan was to make a trilogy of Hellboy films. Unfortunately, the franchise stalled after the second movie. Now, The Descent director Neil Marshall is helming a new adaptation with David Harbour taking over the role from Ron Perlman.

“Hellboy is back, and he’s on fire. From the pages of Mike Mignola’s seminal work, this action packed story sees the legendary half-demon superhero (David Harbour, “Stranger Things”) called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue (Milla Jovovich, Resident Evil series), a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Suddenly caught in a clash between the supernatural and the human, Hellboy is now hell-bent on stopping Nimue without triggering the end of the world.”
Hellboy hits theaters on April 12. What’s your first impression of the new posters? Let us know in the comment section below!
