Warner Bros. Skipping Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2019

Of all of the film festivals and conventions around the globe, San Diego Comic-Con is seen as one of the most important for the large studios to debut new footage and trailers and announce news for upcoming projects. This year, however, will feature another major absence as Warner Bros. Pictures will not be hosting a panel in Hall H, SHH has confirmed.

IGN first reported that WB’s ScareDiego would be the only presence by the studio, focusing on IT Chapter Two at the adjacent event.

Warner Bros.’ decision feels like a shock, not only due to a major studio refraining from participating in the major event, but also because Warner Bros.’ upcoming slate seems primed for announcements and reveals. Those include DC-based projects such as the Joaquin Phoenix-led Joker origin film (debuting this October), Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and Wonder Woman 1984, the highly-anticipated adaptation of the Stephen King Shining sequel Doctor Sleep and the fourth installment of its hit MonsterVerse Godzilla vs. Kong.
