Comic-Con: Batman Villain Hush to Appear on Batwoman Series!

Straight from the Batwoman panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the executive producers for the series have announced that the Batman supervillain Hush will appear on the series!

In the first season of the show, Batman’s enemies will begin to target Kate Kane after she becomes Batwoman. They’re introducing the character of Tommy Elliot, who will become the supervillain Hush and will develop an origin story of sorts for him across the season.

Originally a 12-part Batman storyline in the pages of “Batman” #608–619, the original “Hush” story was written by Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Heroes) with art by current DC Chief Creative Officer and co-publisher Jim Lee (“X-Men,” “WildC.A.T.s”). It centered on a mysterious bandaged figure named Hush who is hellbent on sabotaging Batman, and involved nearly all the major Rogues Gallery and Batman Family.

As far as Batman himself appearing, executive producers Caroline Dries and Sarah Schechter say anything is possible but that DC is very strict about sharing that character. They’re currently more focused on the audience getting to know Kate and her story without her cousin Bruce Wayne around. But he is a big part of the conversation in each episode as she writes journals directly to him.

Based on the characters from DC, Batwoman is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Caroline Dries, Geoff Johns and Sarah Schechter. David Nutter and Marcos Siega executive produced the pilot.

Batwoman will premiere on Sunday, October 6 on The CW at 8 PM ET, followed by Supergirl at 9.
