Dougray Scott is siding with Warner Bros. Television in the wake of former Batwoman star Ruby Rose’s bombshell accusations against the series’ producers.
Rose aimed most of her allegations at then-WBTV chief Peter Roth and Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries. However, the actress saved some of her most damning remarks for Scott, who played her character’s father, Jacob Kane, in the show’s first two seasons. Warner Bros. subsequently released a statement denying Rose’s account. The studio also claimed to have fired Rose from the series after others raised concerns over her on-set conduct. Now, Scott has issued a statement of his own via The Wrap:
“As Warner Bros. Television has stated, they decided not to exercise the option to engage Ruby for season two of Batwoman based on multiple complaints about her workplace behaviour,” said Scott. “I absolutely and completely refute the defamatory and damaging claims made against me by her; they are entirely made up and never happened.”

Rose previously claimed that Scott “was a nightmare” to work with on Batwoman’s first season. She specifically alleged that he “hurt a female stunt double” and “yelled like a little bitch at women” during filming. Rose also claimed that Scott left and arrived on the set whenever he wanted to, implying that he held up the series’ production schedule.
Although Kate Kate was written out of Batwoman after Rose’s departure, Scott continued playing her father in season 2. But earlier this year, the studio confirmed that he isn’t coming back for season 3, which premiered on The CW last week.
