Amazon just dropped the first full trailer for its upcoming fantasy show Carnival Row. The trailer brings us into a world full of mythological creatures who seek harbor in a Victorian London-esque city after humans invade their homelands. In the steampunk-ish story, Orlando Bloom joins forces with Cara Delevingne to track down a magical killer. Bloom will play a human detective called Rycroft Philostrate, while Delevingne plays the human-sized faerie Vignette Stonemoss.
The pair will fall madly in love as soon as they see each other, but they will get soon separated. Vignette will believe her lover to be dead, before reuniting with him on Earth years later. Philostrate and Stonemoss will continue their forbidden love affair in spite of the humans’ prejudices.

In the upcoming Amazon series, Philostrate and Stonemoss work side-by-side to solve a series of murders creating tension between human citizens and the growing immigrant population of mythical creatures, who arrived in Carnival Row after fleeting their war-torn homeland.
René Echevarria and Travis Beacham executive produce the show’s eight-episode first season. Additionally, the cast includes David Gyasi (Interstellar), Karla Crome (Misfits), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), and Tamzin Merchant (Salem). The project initially saw the involvement of Guillermo del Toro, who then stepped away from it due to his feature film schedule.
