The CW Pushes Back New Episodes of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow

As the entertainment industry faces the Coronavirus outbreak, film studios and TV networks have been delaying productions. Now, it looks like The CW is taking things a step further with two of its Arrowverse shows. New episodes of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow are slated to air tonight. But after that, viewers are going to have to wait a bit longer to watch the series’ next chapters. CBR is reporting that the shows’ upcoming episodes are getting postponed.

The CW will instead air reruns of earlier Flash and Legends episodes for the next two weeks. The March 24 Legends episode, “Zari, Not Zari” will be replaced by “A Head of Her Time” from last month. The following week, on March 31, a rerun of “Mortal Khanbat” will air in place of “The Great British Fake-Off.”

The Flash is facing a similar ordeal. After taking next week off, its March 31 episode is getting replaced with a repeat of “Grodd Friended Me.”

Considering how close the new episodes’ original release dates were, they probably weren’t impacted by the series’ production delays. The CW didn’t give an official reason for the postponements. However, it seems likely that this is being done to keep audiences from having to wait too long in between the completed episodes and the ones that still have to finish filming. No one seems to know when the COVID-19 crisis is coming to an end. But once the bureaucratic powers-that-be get a better handle on it, the network can hold fans over with whatever they currently have.
