Netflix Releases First Look at Cowboy Bebop Live-Action Adaptation

This Fall, one of the most beloved anime series will get a live-action adaptation as Cowboy Bebop hits Netflix. We’ve seen much anticipation for the upcoming show by the Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol writer André Nemec. Now, today, the producers have finally released the first look at the main characters in the series. A fresh batch of promotional photos offers a closer look at John Cho’s Spike Spiegel, the former member of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate. We also see Mustafa Shakir’s Jet Black and Daniella Pineda’s Faye Valentine. One of the most evocative pictures in the set sees the bounty hunter Spike covered in blood inside what appears to be a ravaged church. Additionally, one photo features the whole trio in a cool pose outside the infamous bar on Mars called C’est La Vie.

Per the official description, “Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka ‘cowboys,’ all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.”

Cowboy Bebop will premiere on Netflix on Nov. 19.
