Who stars in The Fantastic Four?
In February 2024, Marvel Studios announced that Stranger Things’ Quinn will play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in the forthcoming Fantastic Four reboot movie. He’ll be joined by Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
Marvel also announced in April 2024 that Julia Garner, known for starring in Ozark and Inventing Anna, will play a “Shalla-Bal version” of the Silver Surfer in the film.
It’s currently unknown who is playing Doctor Doom in the film and greater MCU; although, according to recent reports, the villain may have a minor presence in The Fantastic Four, as it’s believed that Galactus will serve as the primary antagonist that Marvel’s First Family will have to face.
Further plot details remain under wraps at this time, though there’s also speculation that the movie may be set in the past, potentially around the 1960s. The poster released when Marvel officially announced the cast also features H.E.R.B.I.E., though it’s unclear if the character will actually appear in the movie or not.
The Fantastic Four is directed by Matt Shakman, who previously directed episodes of WandaVision, Game of Thrones, Fargo, The Great, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The screenplay comes from Josh Friedman, who was brought in to re-write the script originally penned by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
The Fantastic Four releases in United States theaters on July 25, 2025, from Marvel Studios.
