Joshua Orpin Is Doing His Superboy Research For Titans Season 2

Earlier this year, Joshua Orpin was cast as Superboy for the second season of DC Universe’s Titans original series. Now the Australian actor is researching his new role by reading Superboy’s classic adventures from the ’90s.  In a new post on Instagram, Orpin shared a picture of himself with Superboy Annual #4: Land of the Lost.

The season one finale of Titans teased Superboy’s introduction as he escaped from the scientists of Cadmus Lab in Metropolis. Superboy was also accompanied by his faithful canine sidekick, Krypto. In the comics, Superboy initially declared himself to be the “real” Superman after Clark Kent died fighting Doomsday. During the Reign of the Supermen, Superboy proved that he was a hero. He eventually joined Tim Drake/Robin and Bart Allen/Impulse on Young Justice. Later, that trio and Cassie Sandsmark/Wonder Girl became a part of the Teen Titans as well.

Titans season 1 followed Dick Grayson/Robin after he broke away from Batman. Joining Dick were Starfire, Beast Boy, Rachel/Raven, with Donna Troy, Hawk, and Dove as their additional allies. The new season will introduce Deathstroke, as well as two of his children: Jericho and Ravager.

The second season of Titans doesn’t have a release date set yet. But it should arrive later this year.
