With promotions for Captain America 4 gearing up for the movie’s scheduled release in February 2025, Anthony Mackie recently referenced a playful moment that he had with his Avengers co-star Tom Holland at a past Comic-Con. Mackie added some extra comments to the comedic war of words between the two as he shared some memorable snaps from the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con. Here is what the Captain America: Brave New World star said.
Captain America 4’s Anthony Mackie credits Tom Holland for a change
Anthony Mackie was present at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with the cast of Captain America 4, along with Marvel head Kevin Feige, who praised the efforts of all involved in the project and shared glimpses of the movie.
Mackie recently shared some pictures from that event in which he poses alongside the Captain America: Brave New World cast and also posted a glimpse of his Captain America. Along with this, he wrote in the caption, ”I had to take time and let the scope of what happened sink in. You were right @tomholland2013 (Tom Holland), it is different when you go with your own movie!” This comment by Anthony Mackie was a call back to a stage interaction he shared with Tom Holland at the 2018 Comic-Con.
At that time, Mackie teased Holland by saying he hadn’t watched Spider-Man: Homecoming. Holland then talked about not seeing Mackie’s solo Falcon movie, then breaking into a laugh and joking about the movie not existing. It was a memorable moment between the two stars that has stuck with fans and Mackie also, evidently. So, with Captain America: Brave New World on the horizon, and another Spider-man film from Tom Holland also in development, there could be more developments in their playful back and forth still to come.
