Stan Lee is going to live on through his vast assortment of superpowered characters for generations to come. But it turns out that his production company, POW! Entertainment, and Pure Imagination Studios are teaming up to carry on his legacy in animated form. Via Deadline, the two studios will co-produce a new cartoon that re-imagines Stan the Man as a precocious schoolboy.
Appropriately enough, the series is titled The Amazing Stan. A two-minute preview announced the project during Comic-Con’s “A Celebration of Stan Lee’s Life and Legacy” panel. Pure Imagination’s Chief Content Officer John P. Roberts and Sanjee Gupta conceived the show. Apparently, Roberts and Gupta pitched the series to Lee before his passing last November and he ultimately gave them his stamp of approval. Scott Peterson, a veteran of Disney’s Phineas and Ferb, has also been tasked with bringing the show to life.

Deadline describes this version of Lee as a “constant dreamer.” The series will also follow the young Generalissimo as he and his friends “learn to take risks, explore new ideas, and never ever give up.”
“It is an honor to help carry on the creative legacy of one of the greatest storytellers that pop culture has ever known by introducing an original animated adventure series featuring a new cast of characters for kids and adults to connect with,” said Roberts. “Stan Lee turned his childhood daydreams into a universe that features superheroes that have resonated with generations of all ages and cultures. Now his millions of fans can look forward to seeing him appear as an animated version of his younger self for the very first time.”
The Amazing Stan is still without a network or a premiere date. Will you be checking out the series when it debuts? Tell us what you think in the comment section below!
