The Batwoman panel just concluded at San Diego Comic-Con. And while it’s sad that star Ruby Rose, couldn’t make the trip, fans got to see it in action anyway. Not only that, but they also got fresh new details about the show’s tie-in with Crisis On Infinite Earths. And holy surprise cameos!
Burt Ward, the co-star of the Batman TV series from the ’60s, will be appearing on the show as part of the five-episode crossover event, which happens later this year. Executive producer Caroline Dries confirmed the news during the panel.
“We’re currently working on the crossover,” said Dries. “We’ve got a ton, a ton, a ton of characters coming into the five-part event.” Ward’s name was a specific one that came up over the course of the panel.
Ward is the latest veteran to be confirmed for the huge crossover event. Earlier this week, the producers added not one, but two Supermen to the crossover event.Brandon Routh, who portrayed the Man of Steel in Superman R eturns, will get to play the hero once more. Meanwhile, Tyler Hoechlin, who recurs as Superman on Supergirl, will also play him in the crossover.

There may be more DC live-action veterans added to the crossover as well. For now, Ward definitely adds some star power, even if he’s not necessarily playing Robin.
For those feeling nostalgic, Ward recently lent his Robin voice to the animated films Batman vs. Two-Face and Batman: Return of the Caped Crusader.
