Although both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels had lengthy multi-season runs, the latest Star Wars animated series is coming to an end. Disney Channel has announced that Star Wars Resistance is coming back for its second and final season in under two months. But before the series ends, it’s going to provide a lead into Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
At the end of the first season, Kaz and his allies came together to prevent the First Order from taking over the Colossus space station. However, Kaz’s friend, Tam, sided with the First Order because she felt betrayed by everyone close to her. In the new trailer, Tam begins to rise from within the ranks of the First Order. She may also be the reason why the First Order is able to track the Colossus so effectively.

Meanwhile, Kaz is attempting to hold the alliance between the pirates and station together in the face of overwhelming odds. A few familiar faces also show up, including Captain Phasma and even Kylo Ren. The trailer also introduces a few new bounty hunters who will be hunting down Kaz and the Colossus as more systems fall to the First Order.
Star Wars Resistance season 2 will premiere on Disney Channel on Sunday, October 6.
