Marvel Studios made a lot of fans happy when they formally announced that a Hawkeye series is coming to Disney+ in the fall of 2021. In addition to Jeremy Renner reprising his role, the show will also introduce his protégé, Kate Bishop. With more than two years to go until the series premiere, the producers still have plenty of time to cast Clint Barton’s successor. But one young woman is going to great lengths to try to secure the part for herself.
Following Marvel’s Comic-Con panel, the actress known as Artemis began posting several cosplay photos to her Instagram account. The images show fans what she might look like as Kate Bishop, complete with her own archery equipment and purple motif. You can check out the first of her offerings below.

It also helps that Artemis has some real talent with a bow and arrow. Another one of her posts reveals that archery is her “favorite hobby for the last 10 years.” In case there was still any doubt, she shared a video of herself doing the infamous “bottlecap challenge” and…well, let’s just say that Marvel could save some money on special effects by casting her.

Artemis, whose real name is Elena House, doesn’t have a lot of screen credits to her name. However, she already has a relationship with Disney+. She also has a role in the Disney+ adaptation of Jerry Spinelli’s novel, Stargirl; which should not be be confused with the DC Universe series of the same name. Artemis previously guest-starred on an episode of HBO’s Vice Principals and briefly appeared in Clint Eastwood’s The Mule in 2018. Artemis appears to be really committed to landing Kate Bishop’s role. She even picked up a few comics featuring Kate Bishop for research. Some of these issues are from Matt Fraction and David Aja’s Hawkeye series, which gave the show its logo.
Additionally, Artemis spoke with Newsarama to explain why she wants to play Kate Bishop so badly.
“When it was announced at Comic-Con that Kate Bishop is going to be in the live-action Hawkeye show on Disney+, I took to social media to express that playing Kate Bishop would be a dream come true and that I would do everything in my power to bring justice to this character,” said Artemis. “I started a campaign with the hashtag #Artemis4KateBishop, and in the past two weeks, it has taken off!”
