SYFY originally had great faith in the Krypton universe. So much so, that the network also ordered a spinoff centering on Lobo. However, it all came crashing down when SYFY pulled the plug on both series. Now, Krypton star Cameron Cuffe is finally addressing the abrupt end of the series.
Cuffe headlined Krypton as Superman’s grandfather Seg-El for two seasons. He responded to the cancellation on Twitter and thanked fans for their support.

In contrast to Cuffe’s more succinct statement, Krypton showrunner Cameron Welsh had a much lengthier response:

Welsh acknowledged the difficulties in maintaining a show with such a hefty price tag on a network like SYFY. Additionally, he shared that he found the #SaveKrypton movement both “heartbreaking and heartening.” His thanks to the show’s cast and crew suggest that any chance of a revival on another platform is minimal. But surprisingly, the fate of the Emmet Scanlan-led Lobo series might not be as hopeless.
My Irish brother inspires me in a way no one else ever has,” Welsh wrote of Scanlan. “I could write a book on what he means to me. But right now, let me say this: despite what you’ve heard, the Lobo spin-off is far from dead. And I’ll have more to say about it in a separate post…”
“What an unforgettable journey we just had – but we all know it’s gonna continue, one way or another,” continued Welsh. “We are traveling companions for life. I love you dearly, my brothers.”
