The CW has debuted a new trailer for Black Lightning season 3. And needless to say, the Pierce family has seen better days. In the extended spot, Jefferson Pierce and his wife Lynn find themselves in the clutches of the ASA. Agent Odell wants information on the two and vows to find it through any means necessary. As a result, the younger Jennifer Pierce finds herself alone, and Freeland is left without anyone to defend it. That’s bad news, considering the Markovians are coming.
As things begin to escalate, Anissa decides to do something about it. She acts out as her alter ego, Blackbird, and fights anyone who gets in her way. She also receives technical assistance from Gambi, who’s concerned about her well-being. The trailer also confirms a new costume for Black Lightning, which appears at around the 1:17 mark. But can the hero of Freeland once again save his city?

The series features Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning, Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce, China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce, James Remar as Peter Gambi, Damon Gupton as Inspector Henderson, Christine Adams as Lynn Pierce, Marvin Jones III as Tobias Whale, and Jordan Calloway as Khalil Payne. Veteran actor Bill Duke rounds out the cast as Agent Odell.
The Black Lightning season 3 premiere will air on Monday, October 7, on The CW.
