Amazon’s The Boys isn’t for everyone. The producers definitely toned down the amount of graphic content from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s original comic book. Regardless, the show still boasts plenty of swearing, sex, and violence that aren’t in mainstream superhero adaptations. Fortunately, Amazon has a place where the series’ more wholesome viewers can vent their frustrations about this. And now, they’ve released a video where The Boys’ cast members read and react to the show’s one-star reviews.
A few of the cast members showed up in costume to read some of these negative responses. Tomer Capon (Frenchie) saluted every dismissal of the series with a cheerful flip of the bird. On the other hand, Jack Quaid (Hughie) opted for more diplomatic rebuttals. When one viewer lamented that the series was “Good, but not The Tick,” Quaid had to agree that “The Tick was great.” However, upon hearing that one Amazon user wasn’t a fan of the characters cursing “like they’re at a drunken sailor convention,” Laz Alonzo had a colorful answer.

“This one-star review is some bulls**t, goddammit!” exclaimed Alonzo. “Is that drunken sailor enough for you, motherf***er?”
Some of the superheroes themselves also appeared in costume to give their two cents. Dominique McElligott (Queen Maeve) was actually impressed by a review suggesting that her character didn’t have enough screen time. Additionally, Chace Crawford (The Deep) could barely contain his laughter when one viewer complained about the level of violence. Even Nathan Mitchell showed up as Black Noir to give a silent reading of a review calling the series “bigoted tripe.”
