Warning: There are spoilers ahead for last night’s Crisis on Infinite Earths finale!
It’s official: worlds have collided in Crisis on Infinite Earths, just like the comic that inspired it. Last night, The CW’s massive crossover event finally bridged a few realities within the Arrowverse. Supergirl, Black Lightning, Arrow, Batwoman, and The Flash now inhabit the same universe thanks to Oliver Queen’s valiant last stand against the Anti-Monitor. Unfortunately, the battle cost Oliver his life, again, and now Stephen Amell has chimed in with his thoughts on Twitter.
8 seasons and an entire Universe seems like a pretty good time to step away.
What a ride.

Of course, Oliver will probably pop up again before Arrow wraps up on January 28. But that didn’t stop Amell from sharing an early eulogy for his character.

In Crisis on Infinite Earths episode 4, Oliver took on the Anti-Monitor using the powers of the Spectre; which were given to him by Jim Corrigan. Oliver fought the Anti-Monitor to a stalemate, before finally passing away in front of his friends.
Next week, Arrow will air the penultimate episode, “Green Arrow and the Canaries.” That will serve as the backdoor pilot for a new female-centric show. It’s entirely possible that Amell’s Oliver Queen might appear in some capacity. However, we’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out.
