Crisis on Infinite Earths was almost the best thing that ever happened to Batwoman. Against all odds, a duplicate of Kate Kane’s sister, Beth, simultaneously existed on the new Earth alongside Alice, her evil counterpart. However, only one version of Beth Kane could survive in the new world. Kate ultimately choose the “good” Beth. Unfortunately, the choice was taken out of her hands. Beth was assassinated, and Alice lives.
The CW has released a new promo for Batwoman 1.13; which doesn’t address Kate’s latest tragedy. Regardless, it does introduce Nocturna, a female vampire from the DC Universe. Originally, Nocturna was a love interest for Batman himself. But in the New 52 reboot, Nocturna only had eyes for Kate. This promo also suggests that things between Kate and Sophie are even more strained now. Additionally, Sophie’s loyalties are being tested and even she doesn’t seem sure about who to side with. Meanwhile, Alice is also at large and planning her next move.

Here’s the official synopsis from the CW:
“BEING A HERO IS DRAINING – A new villain sinks her teeth into Gotham and The Hold Up opens in grand fashion. Sophie (Meagan Tandy) reluctantly requests that Batwoman (Ruby Rose) keep her distance knowing their interactions could compromise her career. Dougray Scott, Rachel Skarsten, Nicole Kang and Camrus Johnson also star. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Jerry Shandy.”
Batwoman season 1 episode 13, “Drink Me,” will hit the CW on February 23.
